Quick answer: LeadOcean is a B2B contact data service sold on AppSumo as a lifetime deal, from $49 for Tier 1 to $1,999 for Tier 5, with a 60-day refund window. It offers search and enrichment across a claimed 693 million people profiles through an app, an API and an MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT. It supplies data only, and every tier has 5-hour and weekly usage caps.
LeadOcean is a B2B contact database from a small Toronto company, listed on AppSumo as a lifetime deal. The pitch is unlimited search across hundreds of millions of profiles for one payment. The listing is more specific than the pitch, because every tier has 5-hour and weekly caps. This review covers the tiers, those limits, how big the database looks in buyer tests, and who should skip it.
Disclosure: this page contains an affiliate link to AppSumo, and I may earn a commission if you buy through it. I have not bought or tested LeadOcean. Everything below comes from the AppSumo listing, the vendor’s public answers and buyer posts, all read on 28 October 2026.
What LeadOcean is
LeadOcean is a data layer for outbound sales. You search people and companies by job title, company, location, industry or seniority, then enrich a record to get the full profile, including work email and phone number where the database holds them. The company says it was founded in 2022, is bootstrapped, has 1 to 10 staff and is led by Ashish Rai, who also built the cold email tools ReachHQ and VerifyHQ.
The vendor is clear about what it is not. It says LeadOcean is only the data, not a CRM or a sequencer, and will not become one. If you send cold email already, it slots in front of your sending tool. Our guide to B2B sales email verification techniques explains why the data step matters before anything goes out.
AppSumo tiers and usage limits
The AppSumo listing sells five license tiers as one-time payments, with the right to upgrade or downgrade between them. AppSumo shows $1,164 as the comparison price for Tier 1, which is the figure behind its 96% discount label. Tiers 1 to 4 reset their limits every 5 hours, and each also has a weekly cap.
| Tier | Price | Search records (5 hours / week) | Enrichments (5 hours / week) | CSV export | API rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | $49 | 20K / 100K | 2K / 10K | 5K rows a day | 5 RPS |
| Tier 2 | $199 | 50K / 250K | 5K / 25K | 10K rows a day | 25 RPS |
| Tier 3 | $399 | 100K / 500K | 10K / 50K | 25K rows a day | 50 RPS |
| Tier 4 | $999 | 150K / 750K | 20K / 100K | 50K rows a day | 100 RPS |
| Tier 5 | $1,999 | Up to 25M a month | See listing | See listing | See listing |
Support is by email on Tiers 1 and 2 and priority on Tiers 3 and 4, according to the plan comparison. Tier 5 details were only partly visible, so check the listing before choosing it.

Search versus enrichment
This distinction decides how far a tier goes. A search returns a short record: name, headline, current title and company, and location. An enrichment pulls the full profile for one person, including current and past roles. Both count toward your limit, with each search row and each enrichment counting as one record.
One buyer asked why an agent found no experience details. The founder’s reply was that the agent was reading search results, and that experience and education come from calling the lead lookup on each person. The founder also said some profiles are thin and return only what the company holds.
How big is the database in practice?
The headline numbers are 693 million people and about 63 million companies. A buyer who tested the data with Claude counted 124.8 million people with an email you can send to, around 18% of the total. The founder answered that this counts only verified emails, and that the database also holds more than 100 million catch-all addresses and more than 100 million personal addresses. In a separate answer he said roughly 200 million profiles have verified work emails and about one third have phone numbers.
These figures do not line up neatly, and I cannot verify either side. Treat the vendor numbers as claims and test a sample in your own niche and region during the refund window. The vendor links a coverage page, and it says its data comes from more than 20 licensed and proprietary sources.
The weekly limit that was missing from the deal page
A buyer reported on 22 October that the weekly API limit was not documented on the deal page, which for Tier 1 meant about 100K calls. The founder agreed it should have been listed from the start, called it a mistake and updated the page. The reviewer then raised the rating from 3 to 5 tacos.
The founder says the cap is fair use, and that a key which reaches a limit keeps working at a slower speed instead of stopping. It is a useful example of why we check listings closely, as covered in AppSumo listing limits that are not on the deal page.
Using LeadOcean from Claude or ChatGPT
LeadOcean runs a hosted MCP server, so you can connect it to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor and search with plain-language prompts. The vendor says no coding is needed, and that one plan covers the app, the API and the MCP connection. A buyer agency using the ChatGPT connection called it especially useful, while still verifying contacts with other tools before outreach.
How LeadOcean compares with Apollo, Lusha and ZoomInfo
AppSumo lists LeadOcean as an alternative to all three. I have not compared pricing or data side by side, so the table only covers what is sourced for LeadOcean itself. For side-by-side prices, see our Apollo, ZoomInfo and Lusha alternatives guides.
| Question | What the sources say |

| Verified email coverage | About 200 million profiles (vendor) against about 125 million with a sendable email in one buyer test |
| Phone coverage | About one third of profiles (vendor) |
| Refund | 60 days through AppSumo, and you must activate within that window |

Who should buy it and who should skip it
It suits agencies, SaaS founders and outbound teams that already run cold email, can live with 5-hour and weekly caps, and want contact data without per-lead pricing. It is a poor fit if you need a CRM, a sender and the data in one product, or if your targets sit in a region where coverage is thin. If you do try it, buy through the AppSumo listing, test a real list in the first weeks, and use the refund window if the numbers do not hold up.
Frequently asked questions
Is LeadOcean really unlimited?
No. The listing headline says no credit limits, but each tier has search and enrichment caps that reset every 5 hours and a weekly cap. The vendor says your key keeps working at a slower speed once you hit a limit instead of stopping.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. AppSumo lists a 60-day refund window for any reason, and you must activate your license within those 60 days. Test the tier you buy against real searches early, since the limits and data coverage are the parts buyers question most.
Does LeadOcean replace Apollo or ZoomInfo?
Only partly. AppSumo lists it as an alternative to Apollo, Lusha and ZoomInfo, but the vendor says it supplies data only and is not a CRM or a sequencer. You would still need separate tools to send emails and manage replies.
Do I need to code to use LeadOcean with Claude or ChatGPT?
The vendor says no. You add its hosted MCP server address in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, sign in, and search with plain-language prompts. The same plan covers the app and the API, so one tier works across all three.
